Lunch and Snack Breaks
- Lunch and breakfast will be available to all students. Students may choose to bring a lunch from home or grab a lunch from the cafeteria, free of charge.
- While meals will be provided free of charge for the 21-22 school year, as a Title 1 school, Income Forms still need to be completed in place of Meal Applications. Please refer to the following link to fill out the form: Titan Income Form
- Students will be given a recess break each day. Students may bring their own snack to school. We will have packaged snacks for any student needing one. Students are also encouraged to bring a water bottle each day as we now have a water bottle refill station.
Uniforms
- Students are expected to be in uniform when on campus. As a reminder, we will be having our uniform exchange. Uniform drop off will be July 27-July 29th and uniform “shopping” will be August 2nd, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
- Krystal Dress Code: https://amz.run/4mHi Students must also continue to follow the district’s dress code on special spirit days or other events.

ASAP
Safety Reminders
HUSD is going above and beyond requirements to do everything we can for the safety of all students and staff.
- Masks: At this time, ALL staff and students will be required to wear a face mask in shared indoor settings on school campuses. Students are not required to wear a face mask while outdoors. Students will be permitted breathing breaks when needed. Face coverings are a requirement and school districts/sites do not have the authority to be less restrictive.
- The district requires all staff and students to be vigilant in daily self-assessing for possible symptoms of illness. If a student/staff is experiencing any of the following symptoms, please stay home and notify the school for further information.
- Fever (100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher) or chills
- New uncontrolled cough
- Shortness of breath
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- New onset of severe headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Diarrhea, vomiting, nausea
Arrival Procedures
- Gates open at 8:40 for those eating breakfast, all others should arrive between 9:00-9:10. Instruction begins at 9:10am.
- Students should only be dropped off in the drive-up lane or in the side parking lot (and walked up to the sidewalk or gate by a parent). It is unsafe to allow students to exit cars in the parking lot and have them cross traffic by themselves.
- Park in the side parking lot (closest to Farmdale). This helps us significantly with the flow of traffic and is safer for our walk-up students.
- Walk along the sidewalks to drop your child off at the main gate or kinder gate.
- All children MUST be walked to the sidewalk, absolutely NO drop offs permitted in the parking lot.
- As cars pull into the sidewalk/drop off zone, students should be ready to exit the car (backpack on and hugs goodbye).
- Cars will pull up as far as possible along the sidewalk/drop-off zone. Once cars have pulled forward, all students/cars along the sidewalk may then exit the car anywhere along the drop-off zone and walk towards the entrance gate located near the grass field.
- Kinder students will also exit the car anywhere along the sidewalk/drop-off zone and will enter through the kindergarten gate.
Dismissal Procedures
- Dismissal begins at 3:27 (2:31 on Wednesdays) for grades 1st-6th and 1:56 (12:59 on Wednesdays) for TK/Kindergarten.
- Families should always have a sign with their child’s name and teacher name written LARGE and CLEAR to display on their windshield for drive-up pick-up or to hold up at walk-up pick-up.
- Right turn only as you exit the parking lot.
- Pull all the way forward in the pick-up line.
- We will call for your children as you pull along the sidewalk and they will meet you at a cone (please have your child’s/teacher name displayed on a sign in your windshield).
- Park in the side parking lot.
- Wait in your child’s grade level line. If you have multiple children, stand in the oldest child’s line.
- We will call for your child when you reach the front of the line, please have your sign with you (with student name and teacher name).
- It is unsafe to cross Farmdale, please use the crosswalk at the corner of Farmdale and Krystal Dr. when crossing to the dirt lot.
- Students with a permission slip to walk home will be escorted off campus to the corner of Farmdale and Krystal Dr. They will then be crossed by a proctor.
- Any parents picking up students walking home may wait in the dirt area at the corner of Farmdale/Krystal or in the dirt area behind the campus. Since students are released independently in this area, it is recommended that you arrive ten minutes prior to dismissal to ensure that you will be there when your child is crossed.
- Students walking home may not be picked up at the gate, families must wait in the designated dirt waiting areas.
